c21 was delighted to receive an award for Best Example of Listening and Responding to Audiences, for its work on the Reminiscence Project in 2020.  Presented by We Will Thrive (audience development agency for the arts in NI), the company was congratulated on their approach to audiences.

The best way for arts and culture audiences to feel represented is to tell stories they can connect with, stories that are about them.  c21 worked with care and nursing homes across Northern Ireland and liaised with the activity coordinators in each one.  The residents were encouraged to share stories from their past.  With these stories, c21 created theatrical films where they reenacted moments from their audiences’ lives.  Isn’t this the best example of listening to audiences?

We want to thank all the cast and crew and everyone who contributed to this very special project.
