c21 Celebrate Success in Washington DC
Throughout May 2024, c21 performed its hit show Expecting by Charis McRoberts at the Keegan Theatre Washington DC. This was the company’s first time venturing across the pond to America and the reviews left no one in doubt that the show was very well received.
The company was delighted to collaborate with Gallaudet University, the only deaf university in the world, and we held BSL/ASL workshops on the campus to celebrate our collaboration.
The trip wouldn’t have been possible without funding from Culture Ireland and the Sign Language Partnership Group (Dept. for Communities) Thanks also to the NI Bureau Washington DC and Doyle Shipping Group for sponsoring the opening night event.

Expecting has been on a whirlwind of a journey from its inception in May 2023 when the production opened to a full house at The MAC Belfast and celebrated its world premiere.
